Oromo Community Social Club opens: Expanding its horizon of services, the Oromo Community Organization is ushering with pleasure the opening of a Community Social Club on June 04, 2010, at the Oromo House located at 6212 3rd ST. NW, Washington, DC 20011. At this initial stage, the Club serves the community on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting from noon. Service days will be increased to the optimum following demand. There are variety of cultural foods, TV shows on the ground floor and basement level. Different pass time games are also available. Come and enjoy the services of your Club. Addee Likae Atomsa and HaadhaBiyyaa are hosting you.

Call For Mass Rally On May 21: The TPLF government sentenced innocent Oromos to death, life and several years of imprisonment. To protest this injustice act, the OCO invites all Oromos and friends of Oromo to join us in Washington, DC on May 21, 2010 @ 10:00 AM at the White House and the State Department Get the Call for Mass Rally Flyer.

Call For Dinner Night On May 15: The Board/EC/Oromo House Management Committees are working hard to make the House provide optimum services to all Oromo Community members. To that effect they have organized a get together dinner night on May 15, 2010 at 6:00 PM at the Oromo House.

New Year Party: First of all, the Board and EC of the Oromo Community Organization (OCO) of Metropolitan Washington DC area would like to wish you a Happy New Year! The Board and EC of OCO are organizing a New Year Party to celebrate the arrival of 2010, and bid farewell to 2009. Featuring at the Party is Artist Abdi Nuressa, a popular Oromo artist from Washington, DC and Oromo youth will entertain us with a talent show. Date: January 2, 2010 starting from 7:00 PM - 2:00 AM at a Unification Church, 1610 Columbia RD NW, Washington, DC 2009. We cordially invite all our community members (adults, youth, children) to get together to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010 joyfully!

OCO scheduled a General Assembly Meeting: The Oromo Community Organization Board of Directors would like to inform you that our last annual general assembly for the year 2009 will be held on December 12, 2009 starting at 2 PM at Oromo House. We will be electing a nominating committee for our outgoing board & EC members. There will also be a progress report for the past one year.

Oromo House Dinner Night: OCO organized a socializing event at Oromo House on September 26, 2009. The even was very succesful. Feedback from Oromos who participated in the event shows that they are happy on the program presented and socializing with fellow Oromos.
