Welcome to the web site of the Oromo Community Organization (OCO) in Washington DC. The OCO is committed to serving all Oromos. Please read our mission statements and objectives. To implement its objectives, OCO has a number of projects that are updated from time to time. You are encouraged to fill-in the OCO membership application form and become a member of OCO.

  • New Year Party: First of all, the Board and EC of the Oromo Community Organization (OCO) of Metropolitan Washington DC area would like to wish you a Happy New Year! The Board and EC of OCO are organizing a New Year Party to celebrate the arrival of 2010, and bid farewell to 2009. Featuring at the Party is Artist Abdi Nuressa, a popular Oromo artist from Washington, DC and Oromo youth will entertain us with a talent show. Date: January 2, 2010 starting from 7:00 PM - 2:00 AM at a Unification Church, 1610 Columbia RD NW, Washington, DC 2009. We cordially invite all our community members (adults, youth, children) to get together to say goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010 joyfully!
  • OCO scheduled a General Assembly Meeting: The Oromo Community Organization Board of Directors would like to inform you that our last annual general assembly for the year 2009 will be held on December 12, 2009 starting at 2 PM at Oromo House. We will be electing a nominating committee for our outgoing board & EC members. There will also be a progress report for the past one year.
  • Oromo House Dinner Night: OCO organized a socializing event at Oromo House on September 26, 2009. The even was very succesful. Feedback from Oromos who participated in the event shows that they are happy on the program presented and socializing with fellow Oromos.
