Projects:  On the meeting held on May 13, 2006, the general assembly of the Oromo Community Organization approved its plan of action. The 11 point plan of action is anticipated to be completed between July 2006 and June 2007. For the pdf version of the plan, click here >>.

All Oromos living in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area are invited to participate in the further development and implementation of the plan of action. Although it is launched recently, the response of Oromos in general, and of the youth in particular, in the implementation of the program is very encouraging.

The Oromo House Project: After several years of delay, the dream to have the Oromo house in Washington DC is gaining momentom. This is mainfested, not ony in the rising number of Oromos who come forward to contribute money towards this end but also in the consensus being reached on the need of a community center that meets needs of most Oromos. To coordinate the Oromo House Project, a new committee was put in place. So far, two fund-raising events and one workshop were organized. During these three events, a significant sum was raised/pledged from Oromo-sources. A bulk of this sum is from The Oliqa Foundation.
